Video: STS-120 Flight Day 2 Wakeup Call

Written on October 24, 2007 by Apogee

The crew of Space Shuttle Discovery awakened to the rousing “Lord of the Dance,” performed by John Langstaff, to start their first full day in space. The tune was selected by Commander Pam Melroy’s husband, Doug. Wakeup music is a longstanding Mission Control tradition. The Capcom speaking with the crew after the music ends is astronaut Shannon Lucid, who once held the record for an American woman’s long-duration time in space.
